Phase I

The PC&T Process

Phase I

The first step is to determine what level of protection, if any, exists.   This usually means a search of the patent literature, primary research, and other resources. We will also make recommendations to realize the maximum economic potential of the technology.

Business Startup vs. Licensing

This can be a key factor in determining when to begin your research.  For new business startups, a business plan is important and should probably be done before starting any patent search.

Understanding your business can allow us to understand better the key thing to be protected: your competitive advantage.  That way, our research results will be more relevant to help you weigh the risks of such a venture.

If your goal is licensing, then a good search is a MUST, and the earlier, the better.
